Spring Beauties – 7 #PhotographerSupportPledge

I took these images while visiting some of the wonderful gardens in Cornwall, while on holiday with my mother.

It was in April and the Camelia and Magnolia trees were in bloom. The contrast of the jewel coloured flowers and the dark damp leaves, reminded me of Dutch flower paintings of the 17th century. So, I decided to create images with a strong chiaroscuro element, similar to those classic paintings.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the livelihood of many creatives, including photographers, teachers, freelancers, galleries around the world. The #photographersupportpledge is an initiative to support photographers during the pandemic and encourage patronage of fine art photography.
The Photographer Support Pledge is open to all photographers worldwide. Participating photographers offer prints for sale, framed or unframed, at a maximum of $200 (£200, €200, or ¥20000 etc) plus shipping.
